 Why
Do We Do What We Do?
a look at the mass
with Fr. James Sheridan, OSA
One Sunday a month starting Nov 11
The History of our Mass is
summed up in the word “Mass”
from "Ite, Missa est"
"Go, you are dismissed (sent)."
We are sent to carry God's
Word to others. Over the centuries we have
carried that out to make
God’s Word known
and attract listeners.
Come to Fr. Sheridan’s series
of mini-talks that explain
why we do what we do in
Liturgy.
November 11th – History of
Mass
December 9th – The Introductory Rites
January 6th – Liturgy of the Word
February 3rd – Liturgy of the Eucharist
April 6th – Concluding Rite
May 4th – Vestments
June 8th – Bells, Incense, Candles |
The Faith Formation
Commission meets the first Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
in the Faculty Room.
The Faith Formation
Commission helps all parishioners understand that the
entire parish community shares the responsibility for
promoting the teaching mission of the Church. This
commission establishes a commitment to ministries,
programs and/or activities that provide a spiritual
formation and religious development for its Parish
members from the time of infancy to death.
This Commission is
concerned with the life long learning and faith
development as it is experienced at all age levels. The
Commission has the responsibility to develop, promote
and evaluate
programs in cooperation with the Archdiocese, Vicariate
and other Parish Commissions.
